പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം (തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം), നെടുങ്ങണ്ട

പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം (തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം) തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയില്‍ അഞ്ചുതെങ്ങ് പഞ്ചായത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട നെടുങ്ങണ്ടയില്‍ അഞ്ചുതെങ്ങ് കായലിലെ പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് എന്ന ദ്വീപില്‍ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം വര്‍ക്കലയില്‍നിന്ന് 6.5 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ തെക്കും കടയ്ക്കാവൂരില്‍നിന്ന് 4.5 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വടക്കുമാണ്.

പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതിമാരുടേതാണ്. ഭഗവാന്‍ ശ്രീപരമേശ്വരന്‍ തന്‍റെ ഇടതു തുടയില്‍ പ്രിയപത്നി ശ്രീപാര്‍വ്വതി ദേവിയെ ഇരുത്തി അനുഗ്രഹം ചൊരിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന രൂപത്തിലുള്ളതാണ് ഈ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്‍റെതാണ് മറ്റൊരു പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ ഇടതുവശത്താണ് മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്‍റെ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ വലതുവശത്തായി ഗണപതി ഭഗവാന്‍റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രവും സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ മുന്നിലെ നമസ്കാരമണ്ഡപത്തില്‍ ശിവവാഹനമായ നന്തിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുമുണ്ട്. കായല്‍തീരത്തെ കാടിനു നടുവില്‍ നാഗരാജാവിന്‍റെയും നാഗയക്ഷിയുടെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള രണ്ട് കാവുകളുണ്ട്. ഇതില്‍ ഒരു കാവ്‌ ശിവഭഗവാനുമായും രണ്ടാമത്തെ കാവ്‌ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവുമായും ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. ആധുനിക ശില്‍പ്പചാരുതിയോടെയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രസമുച്ചയം പണികഴിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്‌.

ശിവരാത്രിക്കും ആയില്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമാണ് പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ഭക്തജനങ്ങള്‍ കൂടുതലായി എത്തുക. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ഇവിടെ പ്രത്യേകം പൂജകളും മറ്റും ഉണ്ടാകും. മിഥുനം, കര്‍ക്കിടകം, ചിങ്ങം എന്നീ മാസങ്ങളില്‍ ഒഴികെ മറ്റെല്ലാ മാസങ്ങളിലും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ആയില്യം ഊട്ടു നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. എല്ലാ വര്‍ഷവും ശിവരാത്രിദിനത്തില്‍ പൊങ്കാലയിടാന്‍ ധാരാളം ഭക്തജനങ്ങള്‍ ഇവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരാറുണ്ട്. ദ്വീപിലേക്ക് ഭക്തജനങ്ങളെ ക്ഷേത്രം വക വള്ളം സൗജന്യമായി കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നുണ്ട്.

നെടുങ്ങണ്ടയിലെ കളരി ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതാണ്.

ദ്വീപിനെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള ഐതിഹ്യവും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ ചരിത്രവും
പത്തുമുന്നൂറു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ മുന്‍പ് അന്നത്തെ രാജാവിന് പൊന്ന് സൂക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍ കഴിയാത്ത സാഹചര്യമുണ്ടായെന്നും രാജാവിന്‍റെ പൊന്ന് സൂക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ അഞ്ചുതെങ്ങ് കായലില്‍ ഒരു ദ്വീപ്‌ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയെന്നും അവിടെ പൊന്ന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചെന്നും പൊന്ന് സൂക്ഷിച്ച തുരുത്തിന് പൊന്നുംതുരുത്തെന്നു പേരുണ്ടായെന്നും ഒരു വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്‌. ഹനുമാന്‍ മരുത്വാമലയും കൊണ്ട് കായലിന് മുകളില്‍കൂടി പോകുമ്പോള്‍ മലയില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു ഭാഗം അടര്‍ന്നു കായലില്‍ വീണുണ്ടായതാണ് ഈ ദ്വീപെന്ന് മറ്റൊരു വിശ്വാസവുമുണ്ട്.

വളരെ വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പ് ഈ ദ്വീപ്‌ വിജനമായിരുന്നു. ചുറ്റുമുള്ള കരകളില്‍നിന്ന് ആളുകള്‍ പുല്ലു ശേഖരിക്കാനും മറ്റും വള്ളത്തില്‍ ദ്വീപില്‍ എത്താറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദ്വീപിന്‍റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗത്തുള്ള കാട്ടില്‍ ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം പുല്ലു ശേഖരിക്കാനെത്തിയവര്‍ കണ്ടെത്തി. ദ്വീപിന്‍റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറുള്ള കര ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരുദേവന്‍ പതിവായി സഞ്ചരിക്കാറുള്ള കായിക്കര, നെടുങ്ങണ്ട - ഒന്നാംപാലം പ്രദേശങ്ങളാണ്. ത്രികാലജ്ഞാനിയായ ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരുദേവന്‍റെ അനുഗ്രഹാശിസ്സുകളോടെ പൊന്നുംതുരുത്തില്‍ ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രം നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയും ഗുരുദേവതൃകൈകളാല്‍ ശിവപ്രതിഷ്ഠാകര്‍മ്മം നിര്‍വ്വഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ആ ക്ഷേത്രം തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം എന്ന പേരില്‍ അറിയപ്പെട്ടു.

ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരുദേവന്‍ ശിവപ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തിയ തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ 1995 വരെ ശിവഭഗവാന്‍റേതു മാത്രമായിരുന്നു പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലുണ്ടായിട്ടുള്ള ദേവപ്രശ്നങ്ങളില്‍ ജ്യോതിഷപണ്ഡിതരുടെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യം കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു. തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ വളരെ സമര്‍പ്പണ മനോഭാവവും ആത്മാര്‍ത്ഥതയുമുള്ള പ്രഗല്‍ഭരായ പൂജാരിമാര്‍ പൂജ ചെയ്‌തിട്ടുണ്ട് . ഈ കാരണങ്ങളാല്‍ അവിടെ ശക്തമായ ഈശ്വരചെെതന്യം നിലനിന്നു. പോന്നുംതുരുത്തിനെ ഭക്തിയുടെ പൊന്‍ചിറകുകളിലേറ്റിയ, കുഞ്ചു ശാന്തി എന്ന പൂജാരി പൂജ ചെയ്‌തിരുന്ന, ദീര്‍ഘവും പ്രൌഡോജ്ജ്വലവുമായ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടം, ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ മനസുകളില്‍ നിറഞ്ഞുനില്‍ക്കുന്നതാണ്.

തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ പുനരുദ്ധാരണം നടത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചപ്പോഴൊക്കെ തടസ്സപ്പെടുകയാണുണ്ടായത്. 1962 മുതല്‍ അതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു നടന്നിട്ടുള്ള ദേവപ്രശ്നങ്ങളിലെല്ലാം നെടുങ്ങണ്ടയില്‍ മുന്‍പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന കളരി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം പുനര്‍നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചു പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തിയതിനു ശേഷമേ തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ പുനരുദ്ധാരണം നടത്തുവാന്‍ പാടുള്ളു എന്നു തെളിഞ്ഞു. അതു പ്രകാരം 1979-81 കാലഘട്ടത്തിലാണ് കളരി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം പുനര്‍നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചു പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തിയത്. ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവിയാണ് കളരി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ.

ഏതാനും വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം തുരുത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പുനരുദ്ധാരണവുമായി ബന്ധപെട്ട ദേവപ്രശ്നം ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍വച്ചു നടന്നു. അതില്‍ തുരുത്തിയില്‍ ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതിമാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രവും മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്‍റെ ക്ഷേത്രവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതായി ഉണ്ടാവണമെന്നും ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു സമീപം ഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം വേണമെന്നും തെളിഞ്ഞു. ഇത് കൂടാതെ ശിവഭഗവാനുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഒരു കാവും മഹാവിഷ്ണുവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട മറ്റൊരു കാവും വേണമെന്നും രണ്ടിടത്തും നാഗരാജാവിന്‍റെയും നാഗയക്ഷിയുടെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠ വേണമെന്നും ദേവപ്രശ്നത്തില്‍ തെളിഞ്ഞു. ഇതുപ്രകാരം ക്ഷേത്രപുനരുദ്ധാരണവും 6-4-1995 ല്‍ പുനപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും നടത്തി. ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതിമാര്‍ക്കും മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിനും വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രമായതിനാല്‍ പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം എന്ന പേരില്‍ അറിയപ്പെട്ടു.

നെടുങ്ങണ്ടയിലെ കളരി ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു ഭക്തജനങ്ങളും പൊന്നും തുരുത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്ര ഭാരവാഹികളും പ്രാധാന്യം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതാണെന്ന് പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു നടന്നിട്ടുള്ള എല്ലാ ദേവപ്രശ്നങ്ങളിലും പ്രഗല്‍ഭരായ ജ്യോതിഷപണ്ഡിതര്‍ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ക്ഷേത്രട്രസ്റ്റിന്‍റെ കീഴിലാണ് പൊന്നുംതുരുത്ത് ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം ഇപ്പോള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നത്. പോന്നുംതുരുത്തിലെ ഒരു ഏക്കര്‍ അഞ്ച് സെന്‍റെ് സ്ഥലം ഈ ക്ഷേത്ര ട്രസ്റ്റിന്‍റെ പേരിലാണുള്ളത്. ഈ ദ്വീപിലെ മറ്റുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങള്‍ നെടുങ്ങണ്ടയിലെ വലിയപുരയ്‌ക്കല്‍ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളുടേതാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രം ട്രസ്റ്റിന് പോന്നുംതുരുത്തില്‍ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ള സ്ഥലം നല്‍കിയത് ഈ കുടുംബമാണ്.

സ്വന്തം വാഹനത്തില്‍ വരുന്നവര്‍ നെടുങ്ങണ്ട - രണ്ടാംപാലത്തില്‍ (പുതിയ പാലത്തില്‍) എത്തിയ ശേഷം ടി.എസ്സ് കനാലിന്‍റെ കിഴക്ക് വശത്തു തെക്കോട്ടുള്ള റോഡില്‍ കൂടി പോയാല്‍ കായല്‍ക്കരയില്‍ എത്താവുന്നതാണ്. (ഒന്നാംപാലം എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്ന് വടക്കോട്ട്‌ 400 മീറ്റര്‍ അകലമുണ്ട് രണ്ടാം പാലത്തിലേക്ക്) ദ്വീപിലേക്ക് ഭക്തജനങ്ങളെ ക്ഷേത്രം വക വള്ളം സൗജന്യമായി കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നുണ്ട്. വള്ളത്തിന്‍റെ മൊബൈല്‍ നമ്പര്‍ കായല്‍ക്കരയില്‍ എഴുതി വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Ponnumthuruthu Shivaparvathi Vishnu Temple (Thuruthy Temple), Nedunganda, Varkala

Ponnumthuruthu Sivaparvati Vishnu Temple (Thuruthy Temple) is located on an island called Ponnumthuruthu in Nedunganda of Anchutheng Panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district. The temple is 6.5 km south of Varkala and 4.5 km north of Kadaikkavur.

An important deity of Ponnumthuruthu Temple is that of Shiva Parvati . This deity is in the form of Lord Sri Parameshwar sitting on his left thigh with his consort Sri Parvati showering blessings . Another important shrine is that of Lord Vishnu. The temple of Lord Vishnu is situated on the left side of the Shiva Parvati temple. A temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha is also located on the right side of the Shiva Parvati temple. There is a deity . In the middle of the forest on the banks of the lake, there are two caves with the deity of the Naga king and the Naga yakshi. Of these, one kav is associated with Lord Shiva and the second kav with Lord Vishnu. The temple complex has been built with modern architecture.

Devotees flock to the Ponnumthuruthu Sivaparvathi Vishnu Temple for Shivratri and Ayilyas. On those days there will be special pujas etc. Except in the months of Mithunam, Karkidakam and Chingam, Ayilyam Ootu is held in this temple. Every year on the day of Shivaratri , many devotees come here to offer Pongal . Devotees are taken to the island by a boat provided by the temple for free. The Kalari Sri Bhadrakali Devi Temple at Nedunganda is associated with the Ponnumthuruthu Sivaparvati Vishnu Temple. The nearest Airport is Trivandrum International Airport. Thampanoor is a major commercial area is located in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station is one of the major railway stations in Kerala. It is situated at Thampanoor, 8 km away from the Trivandrum International Airport. The longest running train in the country, Himsagar Express ( Kanyakumari - Kashmir) passes through Thiruvananthapuram. Kollam is the major station towards north.

Thiruvananthapuram Central Bus Station is situated opposite to the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, in Thampanoor. It is 8 km away from the Trivandrum International Airport. There are super fast, express and deluxe bus services from Thiruvananthapuram to all cities in Kerala as well as to the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Three buses operate a day to Kumily for the Periyar Wildlife Reserve and there are hourly services to Kanyakumari. Tamil Nadu State Road Transport Corporation (TNSRTC) operates buses to major places in south Tamil Nadu. Tickets for long distance services may be booked in advance from the reservations counter at the station. Situated around 1.5 km from the bus station is the City Bus Station ( East Fort Station), from where short distance buses are operated. Hotel Horizon, Ariya Nivaas, Regency, Saj Lucia, Muthoot Plaza and Chaithram provide lodging facilities near to the bus station.
