Vellarada



Vellarada is a small settlement located about 40 km south-east of Thiruvananthapuram and around 5 km from Kadukkara. With its small hills and acres of paddy fields and rubber estates, the place is noted for its calm and serene atmosphere.
Major tourist spots include a famous Christian pilgrim center, Kurisumala and a Hindu shrine, Kalimata Temple; both on the same hill. Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kanyakumari, and Kovalam Beach are easily accessible from Vellarada.
From Vellarada Bus Station regular bus services operate to Thiruvananthapuram and Kovalam. Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway station and Nagercoil Railway Station serve Vellarada. The nearest airport is the Trivandrum International Airport

Vellarada Bus Station

Vellarada Bus Station is situated in the heart of Vellarada, in Thiruvananthapuram District. The station is close to the Nedumangad-Shorlacode Highway ( State Highway 3.) Regular services are available to Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Alappuzha. Buses frequently ply from Vellarada to Kovalam, Kattakada, Amboori and Nedumangad. The station operates fast passenger and ordinary buses.
