Jagathy

Jagathy is located in Thiruvananthapuram District in Kerala. This residential area is situated between Vazhuthacaud (1 km) and Poojappura. The name Jagathy was derived from a Sanskrit word, meaning the earth or bhoomi. In ancient time, it was a low-lying wet land with grassy vegetation.
Sree Krishna Temple situated here offers mental happiness and tranquility to the visitors. River Killiyar flows through the west side of this place.
The office of All India Radio (AIR), DPI office (earlier Free Masons Hall), Ulloor Smaraka Library, Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology and Sarada Nilayam (the house where poet Ulloor lived) are the nearby attractions.
Trivandrum International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station respectively.

Jagathy Sree Krishna Swamy Temple

Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is a highly revered shrine situated at Jagathy between Vazhuthacaud and Edapazhanji in Thiruvananthapuram. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Krishna. There are sub shrines and niches dedicated to Ganesh, Shiva, Ayyappa, Nagaraja and the Navagraha.
The temple was earlier managed by Koopakara Pottis, who constitute one of the Ettara yogam, the traditional custodians of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. One of the pillars of the Mukhamandapa, in front of the sanctum sanctorum has a sculpted relief of an unidentified ruler of Travancore standing with folded hands.
Janmashtami is celebrated every year, which is attended by devotees from all parts of the city.
