Kottukal

Kottukal is a picturesque village in the south-western tip of Kerala and lies along the coast of the Arabian Sea. It is near Vizhinjam and is about 17 km from Thiruvananthapuram.
Chowara Beach and Azhimala Beach are the nearby attractions. Maruthoor Mahadeva Temple

Maruthoor Mahadeva Temple is located at Kottukal in Thiruvananthapuram District. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva. The temple complex also houses the shrines of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh.
A grand festival is celebrated on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. On the day of Mahashivaratri, women offer ponkala to Goddess Parvati.
