Pangode

A rare mixture of the rural and the urban, Pangode is located midway between Vazhuthacaud and Thirumala in Thiruvananthapuram. Pangode is at a distance of around 12 km from the Trivandrum International Airport and 6 km from the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station and Bus station. The area is significant since it houses the Pangode military camp. The Gurdwara, Mosque and Hanuman temple in the camp premises are frequented by soldiers and civilians alike. There is also a military hospital which caters to the needs of the soldiers. Pangode Kendriya Vidyalaya is located inside the military camp and it is one of the best schools in the city. The camp area is one of the favourite haunts of early morning joggers and other exercise conscious people of the locality. Pangode military camp premises are maintained beautifully by the army and remains as one of the shady, beautiful spots of Thiruvananthapuram.
The Killi river meanders through this region, blessing both sides, en route to Jagathy. The office of the Asianet, the prime cable television network, is located at Pangode. This area assumed increased significance recently with the establishment of the S.K.Hospital which has already earned a name as one of the best hospitals in the city, providing invaluable service to the city residents. Pangode is blessed by the presence of three famous temples, Kavil Bhagavathi Temple, Sri Sastha Temple and the Edapazhanji Subramanya Temple nearby. This area is a choice location because of its proximity to the Cotton Hill Girls’ High School, the Carmel Girls’ High School, and the Women’s College at Vazhuthacaud. Two major wedding halls of the city, Alakapuri at Edapazhanji Junction and Sri Moolam Club at Vazhuthacaud are within a km radius of Pangode. The main market of the city is also located at Pangode.

Pangode  Sree Hanuman Swamy Temple

Sree Hanuman Swamy Temple is a fascinating religious spot situated at Pangode near Thirumala in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. This temple enshrines Lord Hanuman as the main deity.
The idol was believed to be installed by Brahmasree Swayampoorna, the supremo of divine knowledge, of Punnakamugal Sree Swayampoorna Ashram.
Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva are the other deities worshipped in the temple complex. Vada Mala and butter are the main offerings at the temple.

Pangode Sree Dharma Sastha Temple

Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is a highly revered shrine situated between Pangode and Edapazhanji in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. This temple enshrines Lord Ayyappa, also called as Dharma Sastha, as the presiding deity. Separate niches are earmarked for the deities of Lord Ganesh and Nagaraja in the temple complex. The temple is decorated with attractive carvings and murals. The main worship of the temple is Neeranjanam, which is done in order to remove the ' Shani dosham'. Mandala Puja and Makara Sankranti are the major festivals celebrated in the temple. Trivandrum International Airport at Shanghumugham, 7 km from the city is the nearest airport. Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station (4 km) is the nearby access.

Pangode Sree Kavil Bhagavathy Temple

Sree Kavil Bhagavathy Temple is a famous shrine located between Pangode and Edapazhanji in Thiruvananthapuram. The presiding deity of the temple is Kavil Bhagavathy, an incarnation of goddess Durga.
This temple is also home to the sub deities of Lord Ganesh, Nagaraja and Mantramoorti. The main attraction at the temple is the gigantic Shivling, standing in the middle of a grove. Devotees are allowed to perform abhishek directly on the shivling, which is a rare feature in the temples of Kerala. Kavil Bhagavathy temple also boasts one of the tallest gopurams, compared to other temples in the state.
The annual festival celebrated in the months of March - April is the largest crowd pulling event at Pangode.
