Late Bharatha Kesari Sri Mananthu Padmanabhan, the college started functioning in Perunthanni, Thiruvananthapuramin 1950. It is named after Her Highness Maharani Sethu Parvathi Bai who passed the historic Nair Regulation Act which provided security to Nair women. In 1971, the college was shifted to the present campus of thirty acres at eeramankara. In academic excellence and cultural activities the college has carved a niche of its own. In 1994 the college stood first in the Kerala niversity with 93.13% pass at the Pre-Degree examination.
