Kesavadasapuram is a bustling urban area located between Pattom and Ulloor at Thiruvananthapuram. This vibrant place was earlier known as Kattachakonam by the locals. Chaithanya Eye Hospital and Research Institute is situated in Thiruvananthapuram at Kesavadasapuram Junction, which is the intersection of National Highway (NH 47) and Main Central (MC) road. The hospital which was started in 1995 has revolutionized the standard of eye care in the state within a short span of time, and is currently one of the premier ophthalmic hospitals in south India and the best in Kerala. It is headed by Dr K G R Nair and comprises a team of eminent doctors specialized in eye care. Edison’s Siddha Vaidyasala

Edison’s Siddha Vaidyasala is housed in a building resembling a hermitage at Kesavadasapuram, popularly called as the gateway of Thiruvananthapuram city. The famous traditional Siddha house of Kerala, the Vaidyasala (hospital) offers traditional ayurvedic treatments prescribed in ancient Ayurveda books. It has impatient facilities for 20 patients, well equipped massage rooms and pharmacy units.

Anchuthengu Parish St.Peter's Forane Church

Anchuthengu Parish St.Peter's Forane Church is situated in Anjuthengu near Kadakkavoor of Thiruvananthapuram District in Kerala.
The St. Peter’s Church stands as the most colourful feather on the beautiful strip of land of Anchuthengu village. It was the 15th century Portuguese Missionaries who landed at the sea shore who began the active building of this lively Christian Community here. By the beginning of the 16th century, the first church was built.
The Portuguese and the Dutch established Anchuthengu as their business capital for Pepper exports to Europe. In 1684, with the permission of the Queen of Attingal, East India Company began to build their business establishments in Anchuthengu. The Anchuthengu Fort was completed in 1695. Poothura and Kayikara form its boundaries at the south and the west respectively. The Anchuthengu Lake and the Arabian Sea form the boundaries at the east and the west respectively. It covers a geographical area of 311.22 acres.
Anchuthengu was known as Anchingal but the pronounciation of the British changed it as Anjengo which the locals now call as Anchuthengu! There is also a history that says that there were five support stones for head-loads (Anchu thangu) for head-load workers as it was a commercial hub in the past.
The St. Joseph’s School run by the parish was built in 1893 by the Portuguese Missionaries. There are two substations in the parish such as Carmala Matha Church, Chembavu and St. Mary’s Church, Puthennada. There are many institutes in the parish territory such as Sacred Heart convent, St. Mary’s Convent, Sacred Heart Malayalam and English medium schools, Anchuthengu Panchayath Office, Post Office, many Fisheries Offices, and many other NGOs. There are more than 2500 families divided into 11 wards and subdivided into 68 BCC units to facilitate effective and active participation of everyone in the acitivities of the parish as one united family! Anchuthengu Fort

Ajuthengu Fort is a 16th century building located at Anchuthengu near Kadakkavoor in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. Anjengo or Anchuthengu  fort was originally built by British in 1690. It was one of the powerful bastions of the British empire in Kerala. The construction works were completed in 1690. The fort was once used as the first signaling station for ships arriving from England to India. The remnants of a majestic fort and the graveyard which contains the mortal remains of the British men and their families can still be seen here. கடக்காவூர் ரயில் நிலையம் தெற்கு ரயில்வேயின் கீழ் உள்ளது. இது திருவனந்தபுரம்-எர்ணாகுளம் ரயில் பாதையில் உள்ளது. மலபார் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ், கன்னியாகுமரி-பெங்களூரு எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் (ஐலண்ட் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ்), வஞ்சிநாடு எக்ஸ்பிரஸ், வேணாடு எக்ஸ்பிரஸ், குருவாயூர்-சென்னை எழும்பூர் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ், திருவனந்தபுரம்-கண்ணூர் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ், மும்பை-கன்னியாகுமரி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் (ஜெயந்தி ஜனதா எக்ஸ்பிரஸ்), திருவனந்தபுரம்-கோட்டயம் பாசஞ்சர், திருவனந்தபுரம் ஆகிய முக்கிய ரயில் இணைப்புகள் அடங்கும். -கொல்லம் பாசஞ்சர், மதுரை-கொல்லம் பாசஞ்சர் முதலியன. கடக்காவூருக்கு தெற்கே உள்ள முக்கிய நிலையம் திருவனந்தபுரம் சென்ட்ரல் ரயில் நிலையம் (32 கி.மீ.). வடக்கே சென்றால், கொல்லம் சந்திப்பு ரயில் நிலையம் (33 கிமீ ) கடக்காவூருக்கு அடுத்துள்ள முக்கிய நிலையமாகும்.முக்கியமாக திருவனந்தபுரம் மற்றும் கொல்லம் ஆகிய நகரங்களுக்குச் செல்லும் மற்றும் வருபவர்களால் காலை மற்றும் மாலை நேரங்களில் அடிக்கடி நெரிசல் மற்றும் பரபரப்பான நிலையம். அஞ்சுதெங்கு கோட்டை, அஞ்சுதெங்கு கலங்கரை விளக்கம், அஞ்சுதெங்கு பாரிஷ் செயின்ட் பீட்டர்ஸ் ஃபோரேன் தேவாலயம், அஞ்சுதெங்கு ஹோலி ஸ்பிரிட் சர்ச் (மாம்பள்ளி), குருவிகார்-கடக்காவூர், கைக்கார குமரன் ஆசான் ஸ்மாரகம், நெடுங்கண்ட துருத்தி கோயில் (பொன்னும்துருத்தி விஷ்ணு கோயில்), சிவபார்வாள்தி பாலஸ் கோயில் போன்றவை அருகிலுள்ள இடங்கள். ஸ்டாண்ட் ரயில் நிலையத்திற்கு அருகில் அமைந்துள்ளது. அட்டிங்கலா, வர்கலா, சிராயின்கீஷு, அஞ்சுதெங்கு, வக்கோம், நிலக்கமுகு, மனநாகு, அனதலவத்தம், கொல்லம்புஷா, கைகாரா, நதிுங்கிகோம், பிளவாசிகோம், விலாபனிகோம், விபத்தாலவணம், விதூர்கோம், இக்கல்லு, அலம்கோடு, வென்ஜராமூடு போன்றவை.அருகிலுள்ள விமான நிலையம் திருவனந்தபுரம் சர்வதேச விமான நிலையம் ஆகும்.

Kariavattom

Kariavattom is located in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, at a distance of 16 km. It is the headquarters of the Kerala University. The University College of Engineering, under University of Kerala, started functioning from 2000-2001 onwards at Kariavattom. The Government College at Kariavattom offers various graduate and post graduate courses. The IT Park of Thiruvananthapuram, Technopark, is located near the campus of the Kerala University. The famous Kovalam beach is just half an hour's drive from here.
The nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport. Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station is the major railhead.

Government College, Kariyavattom
Government College Kariavattom was started as a graduate section of the University College, Thiruvananthapuram in 1993, with only the first year classes of B.A. Degree courses. Kerala University granted fresh affiliation to the college in August 1997, with B.Sc courses in computer science, biotechnology, biochemistry and statistics. The B.Sc Computer Science and Biotechnology are semester courses, and B.Sc Biochemistry and Statistics are of the annual system. The formal inauguration of the new college was on 3rd July 1998

Mathoor







Mathoor is a village located on the border of Thiruvananthapuram District and Tamil Nadu. This picturesque place is about 3 km from Thiruvattar. The main attraction here is an irrigation bridge, which is considered to be the highest irrigation bridge in Asia. Thiruvattar Temple is a nearby attraction.
The village offers views of the scenic beauty of nature with brooks rushing past big black rocks. Passing by these rocks one can get the view of the narrow irrigation bridge. The bridge is so thin that just two persons can stand shoulder to shoulder. The bridge is about 1024 metre long and 110 foot high and is supported by 28 granite pillars. Trekking enthusiasts and holiday makers get to Mathoor for a day's trip. Kuzhithurai Main Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.

Kachani

Kachani is situated near Nettayam in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. It is about 11 km north-east of Thiruvananthapuram.

Kadukkara

Kadukkara is located near the Kerala – Tamil Nadu border in Thiruvananthapuram District. It is about 6 km south of Vellarada and about 20 km north-west of Nagercoil. Kadukkara is the starting / end point of State Highway 3.
