Kazhakuttom (Kazhakuttam)




Kazhakuttam, also spelt Kazhakkoottam, is a tranquil residential locale situated 15 km north of Thiruvananthapuram, in Kerala. This coastal area is easily accessible as the National Highway 47 cuts through the place.
Legend says that the place got its name from Kalakkodu Maharishi. It is also said that the place has many ‘kazhakams’ and hence the name. This serene village with its breathtaking view of the plains and greenery is a feast for the eyes. 
Kazhakkoottam is famous for many illustrious exponents of Kalaripayattu, the ancient martial art of Kerala.
Places of tourist interest are Sree Mahadeva Temple, Kazhakuttam Palace and a cave temple. Pallipuram, Madavoorpara and Kaniyapuram are some of the major tourist centers near Kazhakuttam.
Kazhakuttom Railway Station lies on the Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram line of the Southern Railways. Trivandrum International Airport is about 15 km to the south.

Sree Mahadeva Temple

Sree Mahadeva Temple is an ancient shrine located at Kazhakuttam, 15 km north of Thiruvananthapuram. It is one of the most ancient Shiva temples of Kerala. The temple enshrines a beautiful image of Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to have been built in the 14th century.

Technopark













Technopark is situated at Kazhakuttom / Kazhakootam in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. In July 1990, the Government of Kerala conceptualized Technopark as a facility to foster the development of high-technology industries in the state. Technopark was set up under the auspices of Electronics Technology Park, Kerala—an autonomous body under the Department of Information Technology of the government of Kerala.
Technopark's aim was to create infrastructure and provide support required for the development of high-technology companies. Its stated mission is to "Provide, Viably, Superior Environment and Services with Assured Quality of Service to Make Technology Businesses Intrinsically Competitive And Successful, and Promote Regional Development through Synergistic Linkages Between Industry, Government and Academia, based on Continuous Improvement and Innovation".
The foundation stone for the first building in Technopark was laid on March 31, 1991 by the then Kerala Chief Minister, E.K. Nayanar. Noted industrialist K.P.P. Nambiar was Technopark's first Chairman. Technopark was formally dedicated to the nation by the then Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao in November 1995.
Since then, Technopark has been growing steadily both in size and employee strength. Park Centre, Pamba and Periyar were the only buildings in the beginning. Since then, Technopark has periodically added new buildings such as Nila, Gayathri and Bhavani. With the inauguration of the 850,000 sq ft (79,000 m2). (85,000 sq m.) Thejaswini on February 22, 2007, Technopark became the largest IT Park in India. Kazhakuttam Railway Station

Kazhakootam Railway Station (also spelt  Kazhakuttom Railway Station) falls on the Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam railway line. The station is served by the Southern Railways. Train connections include Malabar Express, Thiruvananthapuram-Kottayam Passenger, Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam Passenger and Madurai-Kollam Passenger.
Going south, Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station is the major railhead next to Kazhakuttom.

Keezharoor

Keezharoor is a small sleepy village in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. This small settlement lies near Neyyattinkara.
The village is famous for Keezharoor Sree Rajarajeswari Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga. The annual pongal festival celebrated in this temple attracts thousands of devotees.

Keezharoor Sree Rajarajeswari Temple

Keezharoor Sree Rajarajeswari Temple is located at Keezharoor near Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram District. The presiding deity here is Sree Rajarajeswari (Goddess Durga). Lord Ganesh and Navagrahas are also worshipped. Homam, archana and abhishekam are main offerings.
An annual 10-days festival, Aswathi Pongala Mahothsavam, is held in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February/March). Women, who from different part of the district, offer pongala to the goddess.

Keraladithyapuram

Keraladithyapuram is a small sleepy village located on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city. This village is 1 km west of Mannanthala, 10 km from Thiruvananthapuram, on the Mannanthala – Powdikonam – Sreekaryam route. Keraladithyapuram is surrounded by prestigious institutions such as St Thomas High School, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mar Ivanios College and Mar Basalios Engineering College.

Konchiravila Devi Temple  

Konchiravila Devi Temple is situated at Konchiravila near Manacaud in Thiruvananthapuram. The main deity is Goddess Durga, the mother Goddess. Sub-deities are Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesh and snake gods.
Archana, Nivedyam, Ganapathy Homa and Mrityunjaya Homa are the main offerings. The temple witnesses a heavy influx of devotees during its annual festival held in the month of January. Devotees offer pongala during the festival.

Maruthoor Mahadeva Temple

Maruthoor Mahadeva Temple is located at Kottukal in Thiruvananthapuram District. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva. The temple complex also houses the shrines of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh.
