Thirupuram is located in
Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. This quite residential area is located
between Arumanoor and Olathanni on Poovar – Neyyattinkara road. Thirupuram is about 3 km from Arumanoor, about 5.2 km from Poovar and about 6.5 km from
Neyyattinkara. This place is also very near
to the Vizhinjam and Kovalam. The
famous Thirupuram Siva Temple is situated here. The famous Sivarathri festival
of Thirupuram Siva Temple is the most important.There is also a story behind
the name Thirupuram. It is believed that this the place where lord Siva sits
after the Thripura dahanam. Thus the village got the name
Thripuram which later got changed to Thirupuram. Other landmarks are Thirupuram
Nagar Kaavu, Thirupuram St.Xaviers Church etc.. The nearest Airport is
