Kaithamukku is a bustling residential area situated on the way from Vanchiyoor to Pettah in Thiruvananthapuram. It lies around 2 km from Pettah and East Fort. Nemom

Nemom, situated at the edge of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation limits, is a thickly populated region, 7 km east of Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, in Kerala. Situated on the National Highway 47, this small settlement lies between Pappanamcode and Pravachambalam. With the vast expanses of green vegetation, beautiful ponds and canals, the place is noted for its calm and serene atmosphere.

Nemom Ganapathi Temple

Nemom Ganapathi Temple is a highly revered shrine located 7 km from Thiruvananthapuram, in Kerala. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh - the preserver of knowledge and wisdom, and the remover of obstacles. Lord Ayyappa, Nagaraja and Devi are also worshipped here.
Breaking of coconut is the main nivedyam (offering) at the temple. Vinayaka Chaturthi, celebrated here amidst much pomp and splendor, is a major draw.

Nemom Sree Mahadev Temple is a highly revered shrine located 7 km from Thiruvananthapuram, in Kerala. This ancient temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the few Thali temples in Kerala. Kattakada

Kattakada is a town in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. It lies on the Thiruvananthapuram-Neyyar Dam route, around 20 km north-east of Thiruvananthapuram.

Christian College, Kattakada



Christian College, Kattakada was established in 1965. The college is managed by the society for Higher Education of the SIUC community of the Church of South India registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955 (S.No. 143 of 1977)
Affiliated to the University of Kerala and recognised by the University Grants Commission, the college is locatedin a sprawling area of  acres of rustic land in the Poovachal Panchayat area under Nedumangad taluk, 20km east of Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala State, South India.  Ours is a first grade post-graduate college offering Degree courses in Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Botany, History, Economics, Commerce & Computer Application, and Post Graduate courses in Botany, Physics & Chemistry.  We also have Zoology, Political Science, English Hindi, Malayalam and Physical Education departments.

Shri Bhadrakali Temple, Edathara

Shri Bhadrakali Temple is a divine spot, located near Kattakada, at Edathara, in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. This beautiful shrine is the abode of Bhadrakali, an incarnation of goddess Durga.

Kilimanoor Palace




Kilimanoor Palace is located 50 km away from Thiruvananthapuram. A branch of the royal family, related to the Travancore Royal House, lives here. Famous artist, Raja Ravi Varma was born in this palace. Swathi Thirunal visited this palace as a child. Raja Ravi Varma

 
Raja Ravi Varma was born in Kilimanoor Palace as the son of Umamba Thampuratti and Neelakandan Bhattathiripad, in 1848. At the age of seven, he started drawing on the palace walls using charcoal. His uncle Raja Raja Varma noticed the talent of the child and gave him the preliminary lessons in painting. At the age of 14, Ayilyam Thirunal Maharaja took him to Travancore Palace and taught him water painting under the guidance of the palace painter Rama Swamy Naidu. Three years later Theodor Jenson, a British painter, taught him oil painting. Raja Ravi Varma's paintings are mostly based on Hindu epics, myths and mythological characters. In 1873, he won the First Prize at the Madras Painting Exhibition and also won acclaim at Vienna Exhibition. Raja Ravi Varma also spent considerable time at the court of Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad of Baroda State (modern Vadodara) in Gujarat. A number of his works are displayed at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Sree Chitra Art Gallery and Maharaja Fatehsingh Rao Gaekwad Museum.

Kilimanoor Bus Station


 Situated in the heart of Kilimanoor town, Kilimanoor Bus Station is on the Main Central Road (State Highway 1.) It is operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation.
